Something new

How nice to read a story about another new business being built in Wheeling. First Tim Horton's opened Saturday out in Woodsdale and today work has begun on the demolition of the building just west of Perkins to make way for a new emergency medical facility. Word has it you will recognize most of the doctors who will staff the facility. If you take a drive 60 miles in any direction from Wheeling, you will witness growth, new business, new housing developments. We've been stagnant long enough and hopefully, it is our turn. It just worries me all the empty buildings in the Ohio Valley. They keep firefighters awake at night. Perhaps 2008 will be the turning point for Wheeling to re-invent itself. I'm not giving up.
