Going to the dogs

The Westminster Dog Show is one of the best entertainment values around and once again it delivered a class act. Uno, the 15-inch Snoopy-like beagle collected the top dog award and wowed the audience throughout the competition. His resounding baying bark sent the crowd into a frenzy of applause. Little Uno actually appeared to understand and relish his time in the spotlight. I predict beagle breeders will be busier than ever as the demand for hounds will jump like a hound at a fox hunt. And who couldn't love these adorable canines? A beagle has become associated with the flag, apple pie and mom. Way to go, Uno!
