| | After the First of the Year ...December 18, 2008 - Phyllis SigalDid you ever notice how often that phrase — after the first of the year — is used about this time every year? I've said it several times this week already. It seems like almost everything can wait just two more weeks. Life is on hold. The holidays seem to take precedence. Sure, we go to work, go to school, but our minds are on our shopping, our wrapping, our guests for the holidays, our New Year's Eve plans. And I don't even celebrate Christmas. We celebrate Hanukkah, which is way less stressful and time consuming. But, still, there are presents, wrapping and guests. Doctors appointments? ... Call the office after the first of the year. New projects? Definitely after the first of the year. Cleaning out closets and drawers? After the first of the year. Blogging? .... After the first of the year. Well, I may squeeze in another one or two before 2009.
