| | empty smile on 16th stJanuary 7, 2009 - Heather Ziegler It's like a big smile with a few missing teeth. That's what 16th Street in Wheeling reminds me of when I ride past the former Bob Robinson dealership building. It's so strange to see that car lot empty. I hear they are doing well at their new location near The Highlands. I wish them well but I still miss seeing all those cars and trucks and people out there on 16th Street. I hope there are some realistic plans for that space now that the medical offices are across the street and have made a nice addition to the neighborhood. I imagine Neely's and the Convenient are missing some of the business that the dealership employees brought their way. Sixteenth Street has come a long way over the years but its ancestors are there in spirit ... the funeral home, the fish market, the barbershop... Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article.
