That seems to be on the tip of everyone's collective tongue right now ... Steelers paraphernalia is everywhere. There are cookies and cakes; T-shirts, sweatshirts and posters; even black and gold bling at Nini's Treasures.
And Steelers songs.
One such song was written recently by Wheeling's own Nate Strasser, a senior music major at West Virginia University and a graduate of Wheeling Park High School.
Nate explains: "After my family and music, probably my favorite thing in the world is football. A couple weeks ago, I decided it was about time I combine my love for music and football into a Steelers song. I thought it would be a great way to pump up Steelers fans across the valley as the Steelers prepare for the Super Bowl, as well as make my mark as a songwriter, what I hope is one day my profession."
Nate said that the response to his song has been "overwhelming."
His song has generated more than 400 profile views on his myspace page, and it's been featured on Steelers Nation Radio and on a local radio station. It also is in the top 12 songs in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers Song Contest. And, right now, on the Post-Gazette Web site, you can vote for his song, "You're In Steeler Country Now" — it is listed in the top 12 songs in the Post-Gazette Steelers Song Contest.
It's a fun song, a country song with some great lines ... take a listen and cast your vote!
Go Steelers! Go Nate!
