Drugs and More Drugs

In the course of one hour this morning, Wheeling police were called to check out two reports of drug activity on Wheeling Island. This was all before 11 a.m. I don't know if arrests were made but I do know that residents of the Island are making an honest effort to combat the druggies by calling police when they see this stuff happening. It's amazing the amount of illegal narcotics entering this town. It used to be confined to East Wheeling, but believe me folks, it's everywhere. It also used to be a night-time activity with transactions happening under the cover of darkness. Not any more judging by the morning calls we hear on the police scanner with increasing regularity. I hope all residents make the effort to call the police when they suspect illegal activity in their neighborhoods. Being the eyes and ears of the law will make a difference.
