What the heck?
January 14, 2010 - Heather Ziegler
A woman in Huntington, W.Va., was convicted in 2003 of attempting to smother her baby boy to gain attention for herself. Sick, huh? She now has pleaded guilty to murdering her infant daughter in Florida in 2002. She served a year in prison after Huntington police videotaped her placing a rag over her 3-month-old son's mouth in an attempt to kill him. I know this woman is sick, but she only got a year! What's wrong with this picture? If this woman does not go away for good then I think she should not be able to have anymore children. I know that goes against many people's thinking that she has the right to have children (only to kill them?). We don't blink at murdering babies everyday through legal abortions. I don't get the thinking behind some of these court cases. Why is killing or attempting to kill babies a minor offense in some instances and capital murder in others? The mother I am referring to above is now facing 45 years in prison. I guess that's a life sentence for a 29-year-old. Her actions were a death sentence for her baby girl.
