Man ordered to trial in Pa. party shooting
POCONO PINES, Pa. (AP) — A man accused of shooting four people outside a party in northeastern Pennsylvania has been ordered to stand trial on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and other counts.
Police say 22-year-old Dheklan "Dek" John of Tobyhanna had been involved in a fight at the home in Long Pond on Nov. 1.
Host Ken Nero testified Thursday that John had not been invited to the Halloween party. He said he told John to leave and escorted him off the property when he refused to do so. He said the defendant told him he would be back, and later the shooting started.
One person was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital while others were taken to Pocono Medical Center for treatment.
Defense attorney Brett Riegel said he plans to present witnesses saying his client was not the shooter.
