Part of the National Academy of the Sciences, has compiled a report describing developments in health care spending. Among other conclusions, the IOM found that an enormous amount of money is down to <a href="*******personalmoneynetwork****/moneyblog/2012/09/10/medical-waste/">healthcare waste</a>, or on anything but helping patients. Medical waste, such as unneeded treatments and administrative overhead, makes up about $750 billion each year.
