This vote was a pathetic POS! 2.5 cents of cuts for every $1 in new revenue.

And the NEW revenue only covers government spending for 10 days!!!

What about the other 355 days of the year we are BLEEDING $6 BILLION a day?

Just kicked the can over the cliff and watch it go up in the flames of the wreckage of the USS Economy.

The funny part is that the SS tax increased 2% and those making under 400K think they didn't have a tax increase! PRICELESS!!

"The "fiscal cliff" legislation passed this week included $76 billion in special-interest tax credits for the likes of General Electric, Hollywood and even Captain Morgan.

But these subsidies weren't the fruit of eleventh-hour lobbying conducted on the cliff's edge -- they were crafted back in August in a Senate committee, and they sat dormant until the White House reportedly insisted on them this week.

The Family and Business Tax Cut Certainty Act of 2012, which passed through the Senate Finance Committee in August, was copied and pasted into the fiscal cliff legislation, yielding a victory for biotech companies, wind-turbine-makers, biodiesel producers, film studios -- and their lobbyists. So, if you're wondering how algae subsidies became part of a must-pass package to avert the dreaded fiscal cliff, credit the Biotechnology Industry Organization's lobbying last summer."

Captain Morgan RUM???? Seriously???

SERIOUSLY????? WTF??? Hic!

dyin- you mean the tax break that the last admin was allowed to run out, correct? Not that there was a formal increase, just the cuts that were already scheduled to lapse, were allowed to do that. Funny how you guys spin stuff.

Did you see where they withdrew the bill for testing people on welfare for drugs? A dem wanted to test congress too, and republican withdrew the bill. LOL such hypocrits. Meanwhile, the red states get more federally funding than blue. Typical stuff from the GOP

Wonder, So it's not a tax increase if it was "scheduled?" Fees/Taxes are increased if you/I pay more. Not sure how that is a spin!

dyin- You are sitting on here implying that there wasn't a 'deal' that was under the last admin that didn't have to be addressed. There are plenty of spending bills that the GOP stood by to let this bill go thru. Maybe pointing out the spending bills the GOP support could be a start......

dyin- maybe that is where we can disagree. I would rather my taxes pay to help a child who is hungry, than a corporation that puts small business under. Imagine that!

"...a series of collapsed negotiations has bred mistrust."

Talk about an understatement!

Obama now needs to stand tough and not make additional concessions. More tax revenue is needed, not cuts to social security and medicare. Downsize the military budget for needed cash.

Pay no attention to those overblown deficit hawks. Bean counters live miserable lives, have tiny hearts and stingy manners. Who wants to live with Ebenezer Scrooge all year long?

There's a lot more to growing a country than just playing banker.

You claim to have a duaghter as a school teacher (public employee), and you also claim to have a drug addict for a son, YET you choose to insult other's children. YOU are the one with the clearly noted mental illness. Sitting on here, claiming you are from CA, lie, predicting a Romney Landslide, lie......Get a life !

If you REALLY care about people, donate to them directly or to a charity, this BS about having the GOVERNMENT do it is just a con job on those of us who know better.

Clearly others donate their time and money to charities and helping others. Duwhop's life consists of sitting on the NR approx 20 hours a day, insulting innocent children, while predicting Presidential elections. This guy is clearly a delusional psychopath. Hope the NR knows who they are dealing with. When the authorities have to step in to put a stop to his trash and threats.

No one wants to steal anything duwhopper. You really need to calm down with your insults, including others children. You clearly are an very angry person, who has nothing better to do than post on the NR. THAT, my dear, is a very sad and pitiful existence. YOUR Choice. Clearly a sick one, but nonetheless...........

LOL, while duwhop is sitting on here insulting children. Now telling others what to post.

Look back when you were another poster and I was still wonderwhy. I sat on here prior to the last election asking to debate issues. Meanwhile, 3 or 4 posters later, cause the NR will eventually toss you again, you want to address issues, while all you do is lie and insult. You really do need meds.....
