She serves at the will of the Board, and an independent audit (not surprisingly) mentioned administration involvement in deficiencies leading to sub standard performance.

It's hard to understand why she would be so miffed, when she has probably shepherded the ouster of far more competent people from her organization to promote the nepotism and cronyism for which her largely ineffective organization is best known.

"She claims the board's act has caused permanent damage to her reputation."

Excuse me??!!

What about the reputation of WV caused by MR. Jorea Marple aka Darrell McGraw?

Daryl McGraw was the backbone of consumer protection in WV and his office protected the poorest people from the predatory interests of paycheck loan sharks and other scam scum.

His Republican replacement has no track record as yet, but one hopes he will not allow "business interests" to have a free pass at the expense of those who can least afford the losses.

ChokingSmoke, I agree with you.

The blame for the C&H fiasco, and the firing of Fred Armstrong, rests solely with Manchin and his wife. I have met Randy Reid and do agree that he can be a real charmer in public, but his record with respect to the administration of personnel is deplorable. He tends to wallow in despotism and denigrates subordinates. Ruthless disregard, based on the ability to use guile to get his way.

It is simply a political machine attempting to retain power under the threat of lawsuits by "prominent" Democratic party lawyers. Each time there is a change of administration hundreds of political appointees lose their jobs, and many have credentials for their jobs. This woman was the former Superintendent of Kanawha County schools and was let go and did not sue them. Shortly after being fired by a county Board, she was able to get a political appointment to the State Superintendent's position. Her husband was voted from office (after decades of making sure that lawyers in WV got lots of fees from state contracts)and now there is this attempt to retain her political appointment. The schools need new blood, the state needs to shake off the political machines. And aren't those people on the Board who resigned also highly political people?

Let's see; we have 55 counties, thats 55 boards, + 1 state board. That means we have 56 empires that keeps getting bigger and dsoing less. Oh, I forgot, they keep asking for more money

Salaried employees are all "at will" employees, your boss doesn't NEED a reason to fire you.

They can simply TERMINATE you without cause.
