Who Will Give In to Temptation?

January 12, 2013

So, who’s going to be the sacrificial candidate? That’s the question of the day, in the wake of U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller’s announcement he will not seek re-election in 2014....

I'd like to believe that Mike Myer is wrong about WV voters, but if he is correct this is a sad commentary on our state. While much of the nation has moved into the 21st century, West By Gawd appears to be stuck with racial views that not only are morally wrong, but hurtful to the state's image. Who would want to bring business or industry to such a backwater?

Gooseman, Myer is talking about Obama and Republicans in West Virginia. I love my state, but when it comes to politics, we're in some sort of weird bubble, out of step with the rest of the nation. West Virginians despise the President. He's black ( Strike one, two and three). He is percieved to be some sort of a wild-eyed Marxist whish is false. Finally, yellow journalists like this guy and liars like McKinley have convinced everyone that the President hates us and our way of life through articles and op.ed.s promoting the fantasy war on coal, and now guns.

"Providing Republicans don't shoot themselves in the collective foot, they ought to have the Senate seat in the bag." Is Mr. Meyers even aware the GOP is in complete meltdown nationally? Until the GOP does shoot off one of their feet, they will remain, a minority.

When we get rid of 17 more far right extremist Teapublican House members in 2014, gridlock is abandoned and the future will look great. Just 17 far right extremist haters keeping any semblance of GOP leadership alive right now. Who is the leadership of the GOP nationally? TeaParty? I dont think so. Limbaaaa? Appears so.

The ONLY sane guy that the GOP could have had any chance of saving them was Jon Huntsman, who could have brought some dignity to the general election for the GOP. Instead, far right extremists picked the wrong rich, white Mormon. Huntsman should have been the GOPs Knight in Shining Armor. Instead he was not extreme enough and was kicked to the curb. Smart move. NOT!
