Comments made yesterday in another article about Sen Rocks decision to make a change in direction to his life, were filled with ignorant hate. At 75 years of age, and after WV being part of his life for 50 years, one would think folks would should be more respectful, considerate and fair even if you don't agree with his politics. I met Sen Rock in 1976, and always respected his devotion to WV.

With the departure of Rockefeller following Byrd and Mollohan(Appropriations),WV has lost all of its senority in Congress. The picnic is over;especially if Capito runs for Senate.

Devotion to WV? A large majority of WV voters clearly voted AGAINST Obama’s policies, TWICE, and Rockefeller regularly voted FOR the Obama agenda and AGAINST those interests and choices clearly expressed by West Virginians.

Fifty years as a loyal Democrit pol and WV is still near fiftieth in almost every category. Coincidence?

It’s long past time for a change. This time vote for someone who loves WV more than loves being in DC and being a Senator. How do you know? I’ve talked to McKinley twice, when he was listening to WVians at WV public events, and he’s only been in the House for two years. Fifty years in politics and I’ve never even seen Rockefeller. How do you miss someone you’ve never met?

Greeceman always loves the MASTER. What an obedient serf.

Now go clean the manure of the barn, serf!

Carperbagger Jay just used WV as his summer home, didn't give a shat about the people.

Will he retire there?

Back to the country club scene.

He did a good job representing WV. I never personally met Sen. Rockfeller, but we worked on the same project many years ago and were recognized for our efforts.

"The picnic is over". Hahahahaha. Yep, WV will fall from #50 to #50. Rockefeller is a disgrace to WV and brought nothing to the state and absolutely brought nothing to coal miners.

I recall first meeting John D. Rockefeller IV at the McLure Hotel in 1968. He was there to announce his campaign for Secretary of State. He told me the story of his first week in Emmons. He ran into a corn cob smoking neighbor and introduced himself, to which the gentlemen responded, "I know who you are and I've got just as much money as you do." To which Rockefeller responded, "well I'm surprised, but have to ask you how much money do you have?" The neighbor replied, "All I need".

It will take $10,000,000+ to win the WV Senate seat....sad times for the not so rich and famous!

Despite his carpetbagger status I feel that Jay at least thought of WV late in his career. I only wish that he would take Pelosi, Reid, Boehner and McConnell out the door w/ him!

Yay pork! That’s what’s most important in a Congressman, right atoddh?

WV can’t make it without pork. Handouts. Wealth confiscated from taxpayers in other more productive states. That pathetic, dependent, hopeless attitude is why WV is number 50.

When you live your whole life with your hand out you never learn how to do any work with it.

Great news for the people of WV and the United States. A stupid man that proved the Peter prinicpal to the maximum. Of course inheriting millions helped.

troll:yes Congress is all about all sorts of pork.get real.DC is pork city. Yes WV is in big trouble as coal declines; which it is doing. The business climate of WV is arguably the worst in the US;acordingly # 50.

atoddh, Still the same old stuff! WV receives $1.76 from the feds for ever dollar WV sends, been that way for the last 30+ years....still number 50 in business climate!

WV has about 1.4 million people over the age of 18, read today in the Charleston Gazette that 625,000 adults in WV are receiving a "check!" Almost half the working age adults are not even working...I would call all those checks PORK, how about you?

dying:Yes you make my point.Jrock,Byrd and Mollohan advocated the Fed social programs in a big way.The programs are products of left wing Democratic policy. They benefit many in poor WV.

atoddh, My point is handouts are not going to improve the status of WV! Name one bill that Jrock or Byrd ever introduced to advance the goberment handouts?

The I79 "growth corridor" is booming due to Byrd/Mollohan influences:Clarksburg to Moragntown. The Wheeling Powers chose to squander their money on the Park Commission's bad Downtown ideas and corruot WJU.

If Rockefeller and Byrd were any good during their time in office, why do us West Virginians still have to explain West Virginia is a state when we travel?
