Maybe he will have some knowledge of law and pull the reins in on the "bad apples" even though they are few.

well richard, Kimball has been the voice of the dept for how long. I was wondering if there was really a chief Frankly, he sounded like a goof to represent the city. Thank goodness the chief has stepped into the light now.

The Chief seems very methodical. He is organized-and speaks- in a very military-like way.And he looks the part with the Marine style hair cut. I would not want to get him mad at me! Folks we better behave.

Taking away all the Homeland Security "spy" hardware and all their 4th amendment violating policies would be a BETTER start!

Take away their AR-15s, body armor, and Glocks and hand them a 38 special, and a walkie talkie and tell um to walk the beat!

Cops will be FORCED to choose sides very soon!

Will you side with the PEOPLE, or the Government?

We the people want to know what side you are on BEFORE you come to our door!!

Sounds good. But they eill have to get out of their cars to accomplish this. Heck I don't know more names than the chief, Kimball and Redford.

"Throughout the last 10 years, crime data were available in Albemarle County, Virginia for 5 years. Over that period of time, reported crime in Albemarle County has climbed by 9 per-cent. In the course of that same period, violent crime rose by 5 per-cent. Taken as a whole, the crime rates are a sign of a slow worsening in crime over the last 5 years in Albemarle County."

Just like fashion trends, what's old is new again. Sounds like old-school "community policing" just re-branded for the 21st century as "geo-policing".
