If the State of WV is to truly progress then it must diversify its economy and prepare its future workforce for more than coal mining and staffing casinos. At one time WV was a center for manufacturing. With the advent of new reserves of natural gas it can partially regain that position. Coal mining is the past. Gas is the future. It is time for the NR and other media that kowtow to the coal mining industry to encourage WV people to expand their horizons and move into the future rather than clinging desperately to the past.
