Yep! Wheeling; that's where I learned to smoke--to be an accepted grown-up at 20...

Saved alcohol consumption lesson for Philadelphia... OH Yeah!

Took growing up and living in CA to stop smoking and cut back on the drinking..

One brandy per evening!

No cigarettes since 01/18/1999...

Who gives a F what do-gooder organizations say. If you want to smoke then smoke. If you want to eat fast food 7 days a week, then do so. If you want to do something that is unhealthy, so be it...... JUST DON'T EXPECT SOMEONE ELSE TO PAY FOR YOUR POOR DECISION MAKING!!!!

Poor people make these kinds of mistakes, Disjointedvivan. Poor people with no smarts, no jobs, no reason to live. Then they get sick and go to emergency rooms and the rest of society pays the bill.

Better to ramp up education and grow a smart society. Everything else will follow.

I think it is a shame when an issue becomes one sides with no regards for the people who smoke. A few dictators have determined that more smokers are not wanted in their outside clean air so they attack us. It began with indoor clean air. Now it is an all out attack on smokers everywhere anywhere. When does this stop? When we are in jail for smoking? It is not fair and it is one side ruling everyone. When are you going to tell us not to eat meat? You are crazy power happy fanatics.

I began smoking while young and continued through the first two years of college. The girl who became my wife gently encouraged me to stop, and I did. My father and two brothers died of disease related to smoking. I have seen all-too-many victims of smoking die in very ugly ways far too young. If consenting adults want to smoke regardless of the consequences so be it, but they should be willing to accept the costs their habit will bring and accept restrictions designed to protect non-smokers from having their health damaged by tobacco smoke.

Here's the thing....smoke is disgusting....smokers inconsiderately smoke everywhere they think they have a "right", regardless....smokers should have isolated and completely separate areas to consume they're wish for cancer....I don't want to stink like you, look like you, or be unhealthy like you. Smokers....please, please...go outside...and preferably, wash your hands and face when you're done..I really don't want to smell you.

Smoking is a privilege..not a right.

An American who smokes is second-class and should be treated as such.

Smokers should be listed on a national database for increased health and insurance costs so that the rest of us don't have to carry the burden of taking care of their stupid char-baked respiratorj and digestive systems.

Smokers...please stop littering up every corner of every street in America. Sure, you're filthy in many ways...but you should be arrested every time you throw your butt out the window of your stinking vehicle.

WV politicians get 231 million tax dollars from the smokers! Alcohol, tobacco, gambling....why not legalize and tax marijuana?

All tabacco users should be required to waive government health benefits that arise from tabacco use. Oh yah, I forgot, this is WV, cigs are good for you and are on Obama's hit list for scientifically proven reason.

@acousticportal; I'm not a smoker but I will defend their priveleges the same way I would yours. It's sickening the way you liberals pile on the demeaning comments based on an article written in a paper. Do you realize how socialistic you sound with your talk of lists and behavior modification? What's your weakness, huh? Hostess cakes? Inappropriate websites? Dog fighting? You will never, ever, ever get humans to be behave the way you want them to enmasse. Modify YOUR behavior and see how you like it. Stay home in your sterile environment so you don't get served smoky food. Keep your own list of extremely clean people. Look in the mirror and fix what you don't like about yourself. Does anyone dear to you smoke? Do you treat them like a seond class citizen? Well, do ya, PUNK? Walk the walk.

Smoking is a right. Just because it is not specified in the constitution...Its a right in your own home. Its a right until it is made illegal-which wont happen.

Maybe west virginian want to kill themselves-its a slow suicide, but so is being a fat ass, a gambler, and a sun goddess.

PERFUMES AND COLOGNES SHOULD BE BANNED IN ALL PUBLIC PLACES. I NEVER HAD A SINUS INFECTION IN MY LIFE UNTIL MOVING HERE. MY RELATIVES IN ANOTHER STATE HAVE NEVER HAD ONE. NO SMOKE INVOLVED, BUT I HAVE SINCE DEVELOPED ALLERGIES, NUMBER ONE TO PERFUMES. I HAVE HAD TO LEAVE RESTAURANT AND OTHER PUBLIC PLACES DUE TO IT. ITS INFRINGING ON OTHERS RIGHTS. ITS A SEVERE ALLERGY THAT HAS SENT ME TO ER. ITS AN ICE CREAM HEADACHE, EYES SWELL SHUT, BREATHING LABORED. MAKES ME WANT TO LIGHT UP AND I DONT SMOKE. MERCER-HOW ABOUT PUTTING STOP TO PERFUMES-ITS GOTTA BE HARMFUL. PROBABLY FIND IT CAUSES BRAIN TOMOR IN ABOUT 10 YEARS. IVE GOT ALL MY MEDICAL RECORDS READY, AND PICTURES, AND IM COMING AFTER THE HEALTH DEPT WHEN THOSE REPORTS COME OUT. NOTHING SAFE CAN MAKE ONE THAT SICK.

What happened to equal rights for all? So you are a drunk. You drink wine, you party hardy. but you don't smoke. So, you hate smokers. Maybe you should hate blacks as well. This is all hate speeches. How much you hate smoke. Well, there was black haters and still is btw. Cars, buses, trucks pollute worse then smokers. Ban them. Want to treat a smoker bad? You are a hypocrite. BAN ALCOHOL as it is a killer. See how you like taking your rights away.
