Ironic that Wheeling is chosen for the site of this public meeting. I recall years ago when the railroad came in and pulled up all the tracks leading in and out of Wheeling. At that time my comment was "Wheeling's dead." I'm still right. Where was the NR/Lack of Intel when this occurred? Nowhere in sight and without a whimper of protest, if I recall correctly. We need more jogging trails. Too bad there won't be any people to jog on them.

Our population base is too small for the hope of passenger service north of Charleston. I'm surprised Kanawha county continues to enjoy this privilege.
Instead, I would like to see more emphasis placed on the development of rails-to-trails, utilizing abandoned right-of-ways.
A particular favorite wish is that the historic Baltimore and Ohio Railroad right-of-way be nationalized as a branch of the park system and be opened to bicycle and 4-wheeler traffic, as part of a coast-to-coast National Bike Trail.

no no no. the tax payers will be fleeced and the operation along with ticket revenue will go into elite 2% bank vaults. this tune isn't new and shouldn't even be on the top 100.
