FEMA 9in 34 years of existance) has a debt of 27 billion from the goberment ran flood insurance scheme! There is a compelling reason why the "private" insurance market will NOT cover flooding!

FEMA has a 13 billion dollar budget and is now getting 11 billion more for disaster aid...9 billion this year to "bail-out" the flood insurance program!

13+11+9 is 33 billion for FEMA this year! Almost 3x the "regular" budget...Goberment is not the answer!

If you research the headline "all the revenue from taxing the RICH was spent in one bill on Sandy", you will have your answer. Yet how many, many people have and are losing their job in the last 30 days because of this tax. I personally know 4. Three of which the bosses came right out and said that if obama was elected, the layoff had to come. so sad

I can see that without anything else going on in that miserable little shetle which are the remnants of Wheeling where once things did get built, business did occur, people had productive lives--those left behind stand at their version of the Wheeling Wailing Wall which are the empty cellar holes of buildings and lives which once existed and now are no more. That 100 million dollar restoration project for the banks of the Allegheny River north of Pittsburgh; too much to expect in Wheeling if the Ogden family is the local equivalent of the Mellon and Heniz families who may no longer do banking or bottle catsup in Pittsburgh but still retain family connections and concern for that city. Not so for Wheeling, not so for the residents who remain.

One thing we got going for us, sounder, is that you’re no longer here. And yet you still blah blah blah here for our amusement, so that’s two things... LOL
