It isn't so much that they want to weaken the rights that allow for transparency, it is that some individuals request the records for unsavory reasons, such as to harass, impede am agency or office from keeping up with requests in order to file actions to recover money for their delays, and to use the information in an attempt to embarrass employees in an attempt to have the employees fired with the desire to take their jobs. With enough torture some workers quit.

This is the lamest excuse for an op ed I've seen in a while. The author is soooooo concerned about the rights of subscribers, er, I mean the public.
