To All: I've been a medical biller for near 20 years now, I've taught billing/coding at two colleges and am certified by Medicare: never....in all of my years have I ever seen a company as tight-fisted, pompous and misleading as the health plan... I mean, look at their name: THE HEALTH PLAN an exaggerated sense of self-importance (narcissism) . I have another chiro up in north east PA who is giving services and not receiving payment for his services - his company is Geisinger Health Plan and...oh my, they are owned by The Health Plan!!! what a coincidence! NOT! Hey people out there: WHY DON'T YOU TRY GOING TO WORK EVERY DAY AND NEVER RECEIVE A PAYCHECK!! See how YOU feel about that!

Are you kidding me? Any search of local and Charleston area records will tell you the Nardones (either together or seperately) are embroiled in a number of lawsuits or threats of lawsuits, even with family members. Usually they concoct bogus scenarios to keep from paying debts. Nardone and his wife have left a trail of lies and deceit in uncountable business dealings. Unfortunate they are trying to make the Health Plan look bad. Here's a time when I am certain the Health Plan is not in the wrong!

well boxerboy if you think chiropractors are quacks I am sure you are drinking the kool aid of big pharma. you probably think restless leg syndrome is an actual diagnosis vs a manufactured condition to justify gettin people on pill. u prob also pop pain meds left and right to justify your pain. chiros actually get people off drugs and treat the problems they are having. but you clearly have your opinion so keep taking those meds which have severe side effects and will damage your body and liver.

They are always trying to weasle out of paying. I know we are lucky to have insurance but they try to discourage you in hopes you will just go away.

I really do not know how some, like elderly are able to advocate for their health needs. Fill a prescription this month, then deny refill, or have you go through physical therapy before they know if they are causing further injury.

"Very hostile situation"; "taped interrogation"--sounds exaggerated but who would expect anything less from an attorney such as this

@BillyGlide apparently Health Plan thinks contracts don't apply to them...that they can do whatever they want in order to make profits at the cost of doctors and healthcare treatments their members deserve and pay for. If I had them as my insurance company I would be highly concerned.

@Justmytake The Health Plan is in Contract with Providers so once they are in Network they are no longer "free" to bully providers and the public. If this Doctor is in network and was willing to see patients in this network the Health Plan should honor the contract and pay the doctor providing care.

@ biker1981 that's just wrong. They should've covered. And you probably did get stuck with a hefty bill but if a provider is denied payment from the insurance co they have the right to bill the patient which health plan tries to say otherwise bc they are flat out liars. I guess this entire lawsuit is filed on dr. Nardones lawyers website torisevalaw****. Health plan even sent slandering emails about this guy that she got a hold of. I heard she's a bulldog lawyer. I hope she prevails as a voice for this doctor and everyone with health plan insurance.

@ justmytake the only frauds here are the health plan who can't honor their contracts with docs or patients. Don't forget the patients ultimately suffer because they're denied care their hard earned insurance dollars pay for. This doc is one of the best in the country in his field and I think this non payment by health plan was an effort to take down his business because they only make money if people are sick and in drugs. Not like there isn't an epidemic of prescription drug abuse here. Plus this guy had the top auditor in the country consult for his business as a quality control measure and it passed with flying colors. Wow it's sickening for lack of a better word what the health plan has done to him. Wheeling hospital just dumped them as the insurance company for all their employees and I guess everyone with health plan now has an annual deductible.

I have had the health plan as my insurance company since 1985. I have NEVER had a problem with them. The health plan is free to include or not include whatever health care provider whey wish. So long as the patient can get the care the health plan is not required to accept any individual doctor. There was a fraud investigator at the meeting. This is a very telling piece of information.

I know a lot of people who have had problems with health plan. They fight most surguries and referals to specialists.

HMO's don't want to pay for anything, just take your money. I had a medical supply company call health plan to see how my my co-pay would be. After i paid the co-pay Health Plan told them i wasn't covered. So i ended up with a bill from the medical supply company. while i am a little lighter in the wallet, health plan is a little richer.
