February 10, 2013

When will beer and alcohol sales and consumption in public places be banned? In my opinion there is nothing worse than going out for dinner and witnessing grown human beings consuming alcohol. It is especially disturbing to sit and try to eat while watching some poor child's father consume a beer at the table where the children are eating. It is also disturbing to see children at the grocery store with mom or dad and seeing mom reach into the cooler and grab a case of beer and put it into the cart. All these children see the posters that relate everything to beer. Super Bowl, gotta have beer! Daytona 500, gotta have beer! Basketball? Gotta have beer! Wings? Gotta have beer! CHristmas? Gotta have beer! Getting together with friends? Gotta have beer! Drink Responsibly!!!!!! HAVE SOME BEER!!! but don't have a cigarette, it's baaaaaadddd fffooorrrrr youuuuuuu!!!!

Smoking directly outside a door to a store is understandable. Banning smoking in an open park, an open fair grounds, etc is extremism and crazy....

When I’m sitting at an open air event and someone sits down beside me and lights up a cigarette, and the smoke begins drifting in front of my face, stinging my eyes, burning my nostrils, contaminating my lungs with carcinogens, it's NOT extremism that I’m angry about that, and I should NOT be the one who has to move, repeatedly, to find fresh air.

If you choose to allow smoking in YOUR private business, that’s YOUR private property, and it’s my choice whether to patronize your business or work at your business. But if you smoke on PUBLIC property – in public parks, on city streets and sidewalks, at public facilities – YOUR addiction is not a good reason I should have to put up with YOUR poisons.

Probably with death camps, as usual. When the Health Board starts making smokers wear triangle-shaped badges you smokers really have something to be concerned about.

Well maybe the Health Dept can put up signs when you enter the county that says no using phones when driving or even in a care. How many lives will be saved and what other rules can government come up with such as no big macs on Friday or Milk shakes on Sunday. Big government goin Buck Wild.

While the un-elected Health Board officials are at it, they need to ban smoke-less tobacco also, nothing worse than being at an outdoor event, and have the guy sitting next to you spit all over the ground and your feet. How about when walking through a street fair getting all the spit on your shoes and tracking into your car, house, etc. just plain gross

I understand the need not to smoke around places that have children that is only fair and I have no problem with that. I don't even like whisky or beer around kids and think that should stop. I would like to see a group provide a place were we could go smoke away from the crown. Like a smoking station. The idea that it is ok one day and the nest day we could go to jail is incomprehensible. I am a law abiding person have only had two tickets in my life time. Now I feel like I am being treated less then human. I don't like feeling this way. Prohibition did not work before why would it work now? Smoking is not illegal. You people have created a worm hole were you sneak in the back door and once in you take over the house. Your like the unwanted mother-in-law. Always telling her child how to live.

Florida ban smoking in all public places including bars many years ago. It was a good move, the bars still thrive!

I smoked for 55 years. I quit 2 years ago. Having been a smoker for all those years, you would think being around a smoker would bother me. Not at all, I don't care where he or she smokes as long as it's not in my house. I think banning smoking smoking in all these public places is just government gone wild with their authority. I will admit that since I quit smoking, I can tell when I'm around smoke or a smoker because I can smell it now whereas I couldn't before. Still, that doesn't convey to me or the authorities the right to tell someone they cannot smoke in a public place. As for the second hand smoke hazard, I have never accepted this as a valid threat to my or anyone else's health. Leave the smokers alone. They're not hurting you. How many of these anti-smoking bigots go out on a Friday or Saturday night and drink themselves into a stupor and then go out on the highway? Now there is a very real threat to my and your welfare.
