The project has entered that critical stage known as the "cover-up." This Mayor just keeps stepping in it.

This project is nothing but good for the city. I support the mayor and his efforts to make Wheeling a better more attractive place to live and visit.

Lets still remember that McKenzie promised to name the donors and at one point said that he meant to do it that day but left the list back at his office. And then there was a lot of controversy about whether or not Wheeling Central, via the Bishop, had put some serious money toward the project and might get to use it at a higher level than others. And then McKenzie went dark on the subject and for awhile promised he would and now pretends it never happened which is how politicians deal with the public. If the Bishop put some money into it, he could probably justify it in several ways but when McKenzie started the Downtown Dance on the subject, it made it seem wrong. Now we are told that it will be at another time, again, and so a politician told us something, again, and we really should believe him as a man of his word. Not.
