The Pope should be applauded for realizing his limitations- due to old age- and graciously stepping down.He is an honest man trying to do what is best for his organization.

we do need very young people in powerful positions. Their life experience is of enormous value in pan handling, huffing, texting, or operating the bong.

something here may be a lesson for elected politicians ? term limits could have spared the Pope stepping down. Politicains should show they care by stepping down befor the taxpayers are obligated to pay their way through life for as long as the inhale exhale.

Pope Benedict made several apologies to victims who were sexually abused by clerics, etc, within the Catholic church, yet to this day, he has taken no decisive actions to punish any high ranking church official for enabling, empowering, and covering up sex crimes against innocent kids. Many should have been fired. Just to name a few.. -Cardinal Law, who was given a plush job in the Vatican -Bishop Finn, who is a convicted criminal is still the bishop of the KC-St Joe diocese -Cardinal Mahony, horrific cover up of sex crimes per thousands of recently released LA Archdiocese secret documents

We hope there is someone within the college of Cardinals who could be a pope with integrity, who will start to take immediate actions to stop these crimes against humanity.

Well he was 78 when he GOT the job!

That is the problem with papal job applicants. You have to have 50 years job experience before you can APPLY for the job!

No such thing as a "young" pope.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss .....
