BOE need to know how much to spend and not get a blank check to spend, spend, spend. This just another way the State keeps their taxes and fees and the local BOE gets to add more local taxes and fees and with Home Rule local taxes and fees to go up. The bottom line more spending at all government levels and the taxpayer is taxes and fees will put the taxpayer further in debt. And if you cannot pay the fee and taxes the government will take, and take till you are on welfare.
Has a politician or government ever saw a fee or tax they did not like? The people want less fees, taxes and smaller government. That means less laws, regulations, and restrictions.
Big saves at the state level would be to cut the State Legislature in half and only meet every two or four years. Now this is cost saving and less government a win, win for the taxpayer. It works for other states like Texas. I really don't need a new hunting fee or highway fee passed every year.
