If the city administration is serious about saving money they need to make changes in the fire department. They have known for years that they do not have to pay overtime to these employees based upon federal wage laws, yet continue to do so. Money is being wasted that could be used for needed services. They have hiredd new employees in the past year that didn't need hired--a change in the work hours could have prevented yet another waste of money. I say this as I sit and look at the crumbling pavement on my street.

They need to look into reducing the police force. While the population and instances of major crime has dropped significantly in Weirton, the police force has actually increased. And lets be honest, some are just outright dishonest and terrible.
