McKinley's out buying property while congress is out on vacation while the country's going down the tubes. Go figure.

"News Flash" It has just been confirmed that Mayor Andy Mckenzie has purchased The Fort Henry Club. He stated he hasn't torn anything down in a while so this work out well. He said demolition will start in two weeks. Since you are so good Mayor, why don't you purchase the Bellaire Bridge and have it torn down? Chief Frankie can't get anything done. Oh I forgot, he is the holdup.

I hope that this deal is finalized and more than greatful that an historic part of Wheeling's past is being saved. I had lunch there many years ago, when I was in town visiting some of the relatives. My flinty, unlucky in love and husbands, German grandmother once toiled as a cook in the club during that era known as the Roaring Twenties. Granny had better luck as a caterer, worked for several years in the Club's kitchen--I had to see the place and eat in the diningroom. Interesting, historic and certainly showing it's age, sort of like Wheeling, faded but still hanging in there.
