Manufacturing a Fiscal Crisis?

February 23, 2013

The sky will fall, all over the world, if Congress does not give in to President Barack Obama’s demand for higher taxes, he and others in his administration claim. Poppycock....

many conservatives are saying the cuts are so small there will be no real affect on the economy. Really? The return to normal payroll tax for SS of 2% has retailers in a spin. The next cuts will affect air transportation big time. Watch corporate America go bonkers when they find out planes will be delayed hours, flights cut due to air traffic control problems and TSA layoffs. The sky won't fall but corporate America is going to get hit and they won't like it one bit! LOL

"Cut backs on air traffic controllers and TSA workers will turn that industry to gridlock." The FAA's share of the cutback is approx $600 million out of their $15,172 million budget (Google Dept of Transporation 2013 Fiscal budget). So if the traveling public bears the brunt, it would only be due to the FAA's spending priorities. From USA Today, "•The amount of money spent on low-priority projects hit a record $507 million in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30. That's nearly five times the amount in 1998, when the FAA established a new ranking system for airport projects. •More than $2 billion in low-priority funds has gone to airports used mostly by private jets and piston-engine planes, including $700 million for terminals. Pellston Regional Airport in Michigan used $7.5 million in federal funds to build a terminal with stone fireplaces and cathedral ceilings. The airport averages three departures a day."

If the traveling public is affected it's only because the FAA prefers spending money on the politically connected!! But then again that is the Liberal way, so yes we'll probably see delays at the airport!!

I find it somewhat hypocritical that the President accuses Republicans of not bargaining to protect private jet owners, yet threatens airport dysfunction while the FAA subsidizes unprofitable regional airports (i.e. the home of private jet owners).

HORSE MANURE!!! It amounts to 1 cent for every 1 dollar of spending!

When does MORE booze cure alcoholism??

Simpsom-Bowles recommended $3 SPENDING CUTS for every $1 in new tax revenue.

{Bleeping} politicians gave us 2.5 CENTS for every dollar in new taxes, then spent the money raised in the new taxes in the Sandy Storm giveaway. 10 days it was all gone!
