The best thing that could happen to us is for that sequester to happen. The world will not end. I fully expect the regime to try and shut things down that are funded, to sustain the argument, but this group is a fraud.
Teachers and cops laid off? Since when do the Feds pay them?
When is this clown going to stop campaigning and start doing his real job, being president?

We have a government that promises something for nothing. That simple. Can't be done, has never worked for long, and won't work now. It's just a question of how long they can keep this Ponzi scheme up.

@mikey - thank you for clarifying your view on 'real' Americans. Actually, both of us are in full agreement on not being the world's policeman. I also support that if we MUST have an armed conflict (America truly attacked or threatened) that a fair and equitable draft be implemented. That way many not 'half of one percent' will have some skin in the game. Especially I like including the kids of the 'chickenhawks'. That should slow the 1 percent from sending others off to die to enrich the 'contractors'.

rover,a real american is one that truly cares about his country and it's future.too many people out there have lost sight of taking care of our own instead of the whole world.us people with kids do worry about the condition of this country not for us but for them.real americans work for a living, pay taxes to support and a lot of us served in the military[which wasn't just for the money].too many in this country are out for the free ride and don't give a crap where we end up.what is your definition, somebody just born here?

wvhoopie: Part of Kasich's plan is to tax advertising in the state. That was attempted many times in different states, but was enacted in Florida some years back. The loss of advertising revenue was great enough to repeal the law two years or so later. I like Kasich's chutzpah, but this part is a bad idea.

Hard to imagine how the ACA doesn't add to state administrative cost. Federal mandates have been the bane of local governments far longer than Obama has been in office. Now it's just wrapped up prettier I guess. Lipstick on a pig is still a pig.

OF COURSE THE PLEDGES LOOK HOLLOW, THE STATE OF WEST VIRGINIA (whom has never in its 150 year existence ever kept an agreement, promise, bargain, officially or court ordered with anyone, ever. Heck they renege on their own agreements with their own employees) West Virginia’s Politicians and Upper Echelon Employees of the State NEED TO QUIT STEALING FEDERAL MONEY IN THE NAME OF IT’S NON-RECEIVING RESIDENTS.
Medicaid and Medicare in the State of West Virginia was and has been a reserve Slush Fund for our sorry a** politicians for Decades, The Last Attorney General Dirty Darrell McGraw (liar, thief, and all around highwayman) 2004 red-handed (sticky fingers in the Cookie Jar) catch of a 10 million dollar theft (redirection of DHHR funding) for political seed money to increase his chances to be appointed US Senator during Senators Byrd’s years of failing health or the possible fraudulent removal of Senator Byrd like the false accusations resulting in the removal of US Senator Ted Ste

The Medicaid in WV is related to the poverty caused by(1.) extreme anti business policies in the State and (2.)right wing 19th Century thinking such as the Paper espouses.Things will get worse;much worse as coal declines with no new industry to replace it.It is possible 75% of WV residents will be Medicare or Medicaid going forward. The highest in the Nation.

rpub or dem...it doesn't matter...obamanomics are clear...higher taxes for all...obammycare will force the states with not enough funds for it to raise taxes on all to pay for it....a grand obammy plan...to crash the ecomony and then form a new Govt..with no rights for all, but never fear..obammy will "take care of you"

Republican Governors are gushing to expand Medicaid in Fl, AZ, and OH. If you read Gov Kasich's response in this very newspaper he said basically "how can you not provide these health services to Ohio's poor", that it was a matter of conscience. The editor here obviously doesn't have the same conscience as Gov Kasich.
