To trollslayer, get off the bar stool, get sober and most of all grow up, stop nitpicking and get a life. Goodbye

So Maddie, why vent your ire at only Wal-Mart? Do you not know whether those other retailers have unionized work forces, or do you not care whether those other retailers have unionized work forces?

Oh well, I guess you gotta spend those big "union earned dollars" somewhere. LOL

And to trollslayer--- I think you are drinking something a bit stronger than kool-aid. I narrowed my remarks to walmart, not other stores. Try reading it again and stop worshiping at the feet of the other "copiers".

To dawraith, what flavor of kool-aid are you drinking these days? It is not the imports that I have a problem with; if you really paid attention to my post, you would have known that it is the way they treat or don't treat their people. As a refresher for you, I repeat "workers diserve dignity and respect, not manipulation and degredation, etc". Feel free to shop there, it is your right. As for me, NEVER. Oh, and by the way, you are probably quoting the rambling writings of a republican capitalist. You live in Wheeling. Get real!

Maddie, then you are screwing over your fellow workers!

"Wal-Mart's CEO, Mike Duke, shocked an industry gathering recently when he said a majority of the retailer's products are now made in the United States.

Industry experts have their doubts.

Wal-Mart's founder Sam Walton started the company as a "Buy American" retailer some 50 years ago but it turned away from that strategy in the name of offering cheaper prices. That's apparent in Wal-Mart's newest tagline, which stresses that it offers "Low prices. Every day. On everything."

So, has it really become a born-again "Made in the USA" company? And if so, does that mean cash-strapped Wal-Mart shoppers will see higher prices?

Wal-Mart's (WMT, Fortune 500) U.S. push is more likely a matter of the mix of the products it's selling and how Americans are shopping, industry observers say, than a sign that it's returning to its patriotic roots.

Atta girl, Maddie. Shop at K-Mart, Target, Penny’s, Sears, Kohls, and all those other retailers who sell only good old American-made products, pay high wages and benefits, and hire only union workers. Or mom and pop stores, because you know those family members behind the counter are union, and are working for big bucks and a Cadillac medical plan. That'll teach that evil Wal-Mart they can't fool you. Right...

To daWraith, yes, indeed, it did get to be the biggest without me and I am proud to be one of the people who has the guts to stand up and be heard. I tend to vote with my pocketbook. Being the biggest doesn't automatically mean they are ethical, moral or right. Employees must have dignity also, to say nothing makes one an acomplise. That is definately not me!

I pay income tax and payroll tax! So when I'm required to pay property tax has my money already been taxed once? When I buy something at China-mart have those dollars already been taxed?

53% of my income is taken in some form of taxes and fees.....

wvhoopie, the company's OWNERS – the shareholders receiving those profits in the form of dividends and capital gains – ALREADY PAY TAXES on all the profits distributed to them, which pay for those roads, ports, educated workers, police, fire, water and sewer, and infrastructure. The company's owners ARE the taxpayers. When you tax those profits when the company makes them, and then tax those profits AGAIN when they’re distributed to the company's owners, YOU TAXED THOSE PROFITS TWICE.

Of course, if you’re a taker, not a maker, why do you care? And if you’re a government union tool, not a private company owner and job creator, why do you care if the business tax rates crush job-creating businesses? And if, as a lowbrow Obamazombie, you don't have the mental capacity to understand this, I’m not at all surprised. LOL

hoopie, why should businesses pay ANY taxes? During the Citizens United court battle you liberal loons argued businesses weren’t people. Why the hypocrisy now? Oh, yeah. Because you’re Democrits.

In fact, every penny of profit paid to a person-owner of a company is taxed TWICE – once when the corporation earns it and again when the corporation’s owner takes possession of it. Double taxation – another of those privileges of the rich, along with the progressive income tax system and the need-based financial aid system.

Interesting, wrat supports our tax dollars going to subsidize wal mart. There are so many loopholes, almost every major business is NOT paying taxes. The law tax loopholes allow fantastically rich company's to pay little or NO tax. Wake up Congress.

Surprise, surprise, surprise!! Here we with the usual "M.O.". Get in there, hire workers at lower pay, don't be generous with health benefits and gouge the cities that accept you when you wine and dine them. Citizens, do you see a pattern? Wheeling is yet another city that has been hoodwinked by the great Walmart! Wise up!!!!

Walmart has ruined American industry, pays low wages and lousy benefits, we pay constantly because of the poor benefits and they want "more!" Tell them to take a hike.

Wal Mart educates their workers on how to get state and federal assistance b/c they pay such low wages. Nationally each and every Wal Mart store costs taxpayers $420,000 in assistance. Isn't that enough already? Wal Mart is the worlds largest retailer and we subsidize them by the amount of $420,000 per store every year. Corporate welfare never gets the attention that it should.
