At least the gentlemen are responding in a positive & timely way to what is a crisis.A better approach might be to eliminate the fee and go with a straight % of sales. The state is essentially a "partner" of sorts with the tracks. One way WV can compete regionally is to lower the State's burden on the casinos.

While decreasing the WV gaming industry's tax/fee burden will (for a year, perhaps) certainly increase the WV gaming industry's overall competitiveness relative to the same industries in our surrounding states, the real answer is to truly "up the ante," so to speak. To do so, WV must, at a bear minimum, legalize one of the following: (1) prostitution or (2) illicit drugs. Anything less will merely delay the inevitable!

Correction: "bear" means "bare."

Give incentives to a company who is pillaging the pockets of the poorest and most vulnerable West Virginia citizens? With an astronomical amount of that money leaves our state to never return.
