I checked the Ohio county tax records on the internet and they only show one house on North Huron Street . I thought all the tax records were to be on the site. Now that what I call selective public records. I hope the 911 system shows more or there could be law suits.

I just wonder where they get the figure of $200,000 to fix the place back up came from. This is how figures are used in government when "they" want something done. Make a ordinance that all homes in this area are to have insurance to keep from spending CDBG money.

You mean taxpayer money will tear down this house? What Island slumlord/lawyer/banker is using the system to tear down his burned-out rental? In a historic district? Maybe like the ones in Center Wheeling? I doubt it!

"It's a shame," agreed Commissioner Victor Greco.
WHAT!
Does Victor Greco mean like, let's say, Mount de Chantal?
Remember when one asked the question "What is a landmark?" everyone answered "Mount de Chantal".
Randall Reid-Smith the so called "commissioner" of West Virginia's Division of Culture and History (He also "runs" the State Historical and Preservation Office) tried THREE times to contact the Bishop of Wheeling on that one.
Of course that was AFTER the Bishop had sold it.
We all know how terribly difficult it can be for a top state official to contact anyone, even the BISHOP OF WHEELING.
This is very troubling.
West Virginia's Historic Preservation Office has failed many times. (Remember BLAIR MOUNTAIN)
We all know that money is the first thing on all of West Virginia's politicians minds.
Much money could be saved by firing Randall Reid-Smith and the obvious pack of "Spineless Yes Men&quo
