@Rangar: That's not totally true, The Ohio side exit ramp of the Benwood Bridge was removed over 25 years ago along with the Bridges farthest section overhanging the 20 feet of Ohio border and owned river shoreline.

The Benwood bridge could also have been maintained as a walking/biking path between Benwood & Bellaire.
The Suspension Bridge should not continue to carry vehicle traffic. Its' only purpose is to help people get to the Island and lose their welfare/disability/SSI/Social Security/unemployment checks.

Why waste the money? Keep the bridge as a historical landmark but make it a pedestrian walkway. It should also be maintained for the occasional soul who wants to end it all in by making a splash.

Hardly a inconvenience, Wouldn’t a Interstate Expansion Joint Inspection, Removal and Replacement on the I-70, I-470 interchange in Elm Grove help with the Roadwork-Safety Barrel storage space change out with the Snow-Removal equipment help in a WV Department of Highways in their typical, seemingly coincidental dual-purpose, un-scheduled disasters sort of way?
