Who really cares about this trash? Have the trial, lock everyone up for life, including the girl, and move on. The fact this story is front page news exposes the sorry moral state of our nation.

I heard that the football coach threatened a reporter and his family one time i read it. And for some reason it has never been mentioned again. Who runs that school the mafia. I think that The coach should lose his job. Some kids were told to delete evidence by coaches. what if your daughter is next. If football is that important to this town i hope you lose every game. Every team that plays steubenville will be looked at with disgust because of your coach.

I just wonder how they determine which articles you can make a comment on. Some local article just give one idea or one side and does not allow you to make a comment. I would think the Wheeling would allow comment on everything but it seems politics has got to the press.

Steubenville is one of the Ohio 'prep schools' for Ohio State football. How's that university's football team doing? Oh...my bad, are they still outlawed from post season play due to CORRUPTION??

Oh, and who is USA Today's NUMBER ONE pick for 2013 NFL Quarterback draft? Why it's Gene Smith! Surprise, Surprise! WVU, more than a 'party school'. Be smart. Be safe. Send your daughters there.

I suppose the girl getting drunk to the point of unconsciousness bears no responsibility. Of course the rape is dastardly, however, it may not have occurred if the girl had not presented the opportunity. Everyone is guilty and should get their due, even the ones who observed the crime and didn't stop it. I wouldn't wish such a crime as this on anyone.

This is just one of so many communities that tries to hide or ignore rape. San Diego and Los Angeles are just as bad but there are so many more rapes there it's easier to hide most of them. And lets not forget colleges that do the same thing.

The only thing that stops this is putting them on the spot and holding them accountable like the rapist. The fact that only 2 guys are on trial is a disgrace.

Ohio is full of this attitude. Just go on Craigslist in Ohio and Akron/Canton has harassed victims and those who support them.

Ohio is a haven for military and those are the same guys getting away with rape while serving so this being the attitude in Ohio isn't surprising.

Rape is a terrible crime, it leaves a haunting scar on the victim. She will live with the flashbacks forever in her mind. Punish those found guilty to the fullest extent of the law. I believe if you were present and did nothing to stop the crime you should be held responsible just as well.
