What improvement there is is the direct result of businesses figuring out how to deal with the current crop of stupidities coming out of Washington and still be profitable. It certainly is not because of any positive actions, because there haven't been any.

I'm still fascinated that none of you obie lovers will point out the howling hypocracy of having Jeffrey Immelt of GE, who has made a career out of moving high-end tech jobs out of the country, as one of obie's top jobs advisors.

I'm getting really tired of seeing the same old stuff rehashed ad nauseum.

We have a tax system designed to reward people with connections. This was set up by Democrats and Republicans, going back to the enactment of the 16th amendment. Congress was controlled by the Dems for most of the last half century, and they put in some doozies. Why do you think Buffet, Gates, Jobs and most of the Wall Street banking crowd are registered Democrats? It's not because they love the social policies, it's because they know someone else will be paying for them.

acoustic, by “common man” do you refer to the half of America that pays zero in Federal income tax and thus has zero “skin in the game” as Joe “Two Blasts” Biden says is unpatriotic? Or do you refer to the 22 MILLION Americans STILL unemployed after over four years of Obamanomics? Or to do refer to the RECORD 48 MILLION now surviving on Food Stamps thanks to the Choomer in Chief’s tax-print-spend-bribe-campaign-vacation-smear Presidency?

And by "upper scale earners" do you refer to the small business owners Barry Bankrupter is busy bankrupting, or Barry Obribery's crony capitalist financial sector and green energy scam and auto industry outsourcing CEOs and union bosses?

mmm mmm mmm, more Kool-Aid please

It always amazes me how the GOP will fight to the death for a few upper scale earners, but not for the common man.

Congratulations to the common man.

Ask GE CEO and Chief of Barry Obribery’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board Jeffrey Immelt why GE gets such favorable tax treatment. And why GE was so busy outsourcing American jobs at the same time Barry Obankrupter was so cozy with big campaign donor Jeffrey Immelt.

Just dirty business as usual for the crony capitalist Obama administration.

If the economy is improving, why is GE stashing cash overseas?

U.S.-based nonfinancial companies are parking record amounts of cash abroad, thanks largely to a tax code that encourages them to indefinitely keep profits from their foreign subsidiaries outside of the country.

Some of the largest companies in the U.S. greatly boosted their tax-avoiding cash stockpiles abroad last year, according to recent surveys of company filings from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

For example, the Jedi master of avoiding U.S. taxation, General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), increased its tax-free cash accumulation to $108 billion, up from an estimated $94 billion in 2010. Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq:MSFT) increased its stockpile to $61 billion, up 36 percent from 2011.

You anti OBAMA-ites are slipping. you left out the figure on all of those who thought it best to get "disability" in the last 5 years rather than continue to search for work. Wonder what the unemployement would be if it wasn't for the success of "fracking" that's been going on for the past 4- 5 years.

I produce the facts, whining little dawgs and geese produce the meanderings of geriatric atrophied lunatic fringe ravings.

So Dawg, $6.2 TRILLION in debt, the most amount of money ever spent by a Human Being in the History of the world does NOT have a negative effect on the USA economy?

But 380 parts per MILLION of PLANT FOOD (carbon Dioxide) is CHANGING THE WORLD CLIMATE in the extreme??

What a freakin idiot!

DO you also believe in the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny, Neutered Dawg?

Clue, Don't expect dah RRW (radical right wing) crowd to credit the president - even though they are more than willing to blame him whenever there is a downturn. Personally, I believe the national economy is far too massive and intertwined with a global economy to be dictated by a president unless he does something on the order of declaring war on a major power.
