Some public speeches stir up anger and cause violence. Therefore, I propose that anyone who wants to give a public speech or write an Editorial to the newspaper should first register, then pass a background check, pay a $200 fee and give a detailed list of their exact speech to the proper authorities.

This does NOT interfere with Free Speech rights!

Since religion also causes conflict, those wishing to attend church should first register so that the government can keep a list of who belongs to which church. This is a commonsense rule that would protect the children.

drip,drip,drip...the Dems will just keep taking steps to Take away guns from legal citizens hands....1st...all to be registered...then total confiscation at the appointed time...many countries took this same path in history to total control, which caused the murder of millions of their own citizens

Titled, registered, licensed fire arms does not INFRINGE ON YOUR OWNERSHIP RIGHTS. Unless you can't pass the background check.

uncommonsense....your posts come from a bright light with a free mind.....one question for the second amendment doubters should be..Why is the dept. of homeland security ordering 1.6 billion rounds of ammo? many hollow points? why is this same dept. ordering armored personel carriers? sounds like this dept. is getting ready for a war here in the USA...

"The Founding Fathers of the United States thought they had found a way to successfully head off the degeneration of governments into pathological monstrosities: ensure that the people remain armed, and teach them that it is part of their duty as free citizens to check the arrogance of government — by threat of armed revolt or by actual revolution, if need be. Thomas Jefferson would have asked why the Jews and Gypsies of Germany allowed themselves to be disarmed by Nazi gun-confiscation laws without rising in revolt — and, more pointedly, why the soi-disant civilized nations of the world did not see the confiscation of civilian weapons as a sure harbinger of the Holocaust to come." -- Eric S. Raymond

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms. . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." -- Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764

@GETACLUE. I might agree with you with this exception. First and not one second sooner, go to every city and town in America or WV. Make sure every single Drug Dealer and Thug have the proper ownership of their guns and then maybe the rest can follow....but not before, go where the real killing is taking place and not ignore the problem like it is being ignored now.
