The Marshall County BOE got outed as just another agency hoping to fleece the taxpayer. The taxpayers have always believed in education and those who administer it even though in the current regime there have been red flags flying everywhere. That the Board wants to take advantage of increased property values to gouge the property owners for even more money, money not budgeted in the levies that the voters have dutifully supported for years, is just poor conduct. And like politicians they have decided to, without shame, keep that money, even though the county government has lowered its millage in reaction to the increases in values. But not the Board they are willing to torch the support they have always had for some quick mad money. Can you have a recall election for a levy? Lets explore that idea.

Triton, This is WV.....

"In West Virginia, the right of recall extends to any elected officer of a city that has a city charter that provides for recall.

The right of recall in West Virginia does not extend to city officials in non-charter cities or charter cities that do not specifically authorize recall. The right of recall also does not extend to county officials, officials of special districts, members of school boards, members of the West Virginia State Legislature, representatives from West Virginia to the U.S. Congress or to statewide constitutional officers such as the Governor of West Virginia."

Not many available for RECALL! LOL

I guess the only solution is to publicly "SNUB" the thieves as long as they live in Marshall County. LOL

The excess levy was totally unjustifiable, let alone an excess excess. Thomas is right on point!

Anytime any BOE member says it is the first they heard of a topic they are lying. Most situations are dealt with beforehand so the administration gets what it wants and this comes from a person who works at the county office. Give them their 16 million but that is it, no more. If the citizens ever vote these BOE members back into office then they get what they deserve! The BOE and administration answer to no one as they are not afraid of the voters. They just say it is for the kids and scare their employees who are gullible enough to believe their lies and the levy passes. Use your brains people we are being gouged and they do not care in the least about you or I!
