Don’t Tolerate Intimidation

March 15, 2013

In all likelihood, nearly all the witnesses in the rape trial of two Jefferson County boys this week wish devoutly they did not have to be part of the proceeding....

Hog, I doubt it. This is just too visible.

As for the intimidation, since at least a few witnesses have brought this up, the people involved should be very publicly arrested, perp-walked by the cameras and jailed. If the DA has any guts they should be held without bail until the trial is over. And if they have any connection to the school or other public employment, they should be suspended without pay pending review.

Columbus should have people all over this, since the locals don't seem to be capable of running the show.

Where was your outrage when Reno threatened a NY Times reporter. Or is he above the law?

"There have been claims - SIMPLY NOT ACCURATE - of some sort of culture that excused and/or covered up misdeeds by high school athletes."

"The defendant also related that Big Red head football coach Reno Saccoccia questioned him about the alleged crime. The boy, however, felt as if the coach "took care of it - like (Saccoccia) was joking about it so I'm not that worried," according to the defendant's text message.

"In a text sent on August 14 [Mays] claimed: ‘I got Reno he took care of it an ain’t s**t gonna happen even if they did take it to court.’"

AS YOU CAN SEE NO SUCH CULTURE EXISTS, SO PLEASE DO NOT ACCUSE STEUBENVILLE OF COVERING ANYTHING UP FOR ITS FOOTBALL PLAYERS.

Not trying to offend the "South" But this reminds me of a movie about a Southern town controlled by a faction who wants to preserve the old way and can get away with anything.

IMO the date rape drug was given to this girl on top of the alcohol she drank. The memory loss of the night is a strong indicator. Of course a person can drink alcohol to excess and be in a blackout but most of the time a person can remember bits and pieces of that time frame. This girl seems to remember nothing of the entire night.
