I know what you are saying and have thought that often myself. In many ways the boomers have brought a lot of this on society as we thought we knew so much and as it turns out many of the institutions and mores that we blew up really did have a purpose. Today's kids have no place to find out why right is right and wrong is wrong, they have to experience themselves, learn the hard way that drugs and alcohol are destructive or that contrary to social media, movies and video games humans hurt very easily. In some ways churches have failed us, often due to their need to become political, and since courts and layers of lawyers have removed all semblance of value teaching in education, kids are growing like weeds instead of flowers that will bloom someday.
