Ferns is starting to show his true colors. W.V. should have merit pay and charter schools. I know it won't happen, but get rid of these useless d### teachers unions. I also noticed that the salery of Co.Supts. can be raised. WHY?? They don't do anything but pose for pictures, and hire more assistants.

Education spending has skyrocketed by more than 400%, adjusted for inflation, since 1960. Does anyone really believe that today's graduates are 400% better than 1960 graduates, both in real terms and vs. the rest of the world?

Certainly, poor parenting plays a role in this. But the teachers' unions and arrogant school boards also share the blame.

More money is not the answer.

Liberals have wanted a Godless, soulless, immoral, selfish, high self-esteem society for decades. Now that they have gotten their way, they blame everyone but themselves.

"Ferro said he vehemently opposed amendments proposed to the bill in the House, all of which were defeated. He described one proposed amendments as "a veiled attempt at merit pay" and another as "an attempt to start up charter schools" in the state."

Only 8 states don't allow charter schools. Guess where those 8 states rank as compared to the 42 that allow charter schools?

Good start.

Hopefully some considerations towards holding parents more responsible for participation in their own child's education.
