Cont. copy from the NR....

But instead of teaching that rape was wrong, Saccoccia taught that the only thing that matters is to not get caught.

Sorry for the long copy from the NR, however this got my blood boiling... " But to their Coach Reno Saccoccia, the tragedy is not that a teenage girl was raped, but that two of his star players will be jailed for violating her.

"You see, evidence from the rape trial shows that for months before the story broke, Saccoccia likely knew exactly what his players did and helped protect them," the petition reads.

The petition claims no players known to have participated in the rape in any way were ever punished by Saccoccia or his staff.

The petition goes on to state, "Even after the boys were arrested and charged with rape, Saccoccia kept his players on the team for eight more games. Saccoccia even threatened a female reporter with violence, telling her, 'You're gonna get yours. And if you don't get yours, somebody close to you will.' Coaches have a responsibility to train the boys in their care to be responsible men. Cont.

If nothing changes at the Steubenville Coaching Staff [All 27] then the protestors for justice should boycott all of thier athletic games.

and his treatment of the New York Times journalist who spoke to him about the case is frightening. YOU'RE RIGHT SNAPJUDY, I'VE NEVER KNOWN A NY TIMES REPORTER TO "LIE". I THINK RENO IS PROBABLY GUILTY AS THE NEXT PERSON, BUT IF YOU THINK A GROUP OF MEN WHO HAVE KNOWN SOMEONE MOST OF THEIR ADULT LIVES SHOULD FIRE SOMEONE ON THE WORD OF A NEWSPAPER WRITER THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW, YOU'RE WAY OFF THE MARK.

I agree that the school needs to wait to see what the legal findings are. Firing some one with only rumors and hear say as evidence will only get you a bug fat lawsuit. Personally I feel the same as most of you. He is guilty of at minimum not reporting a crime. Lets let the judicial system make it official before doing anything that could cost the school system a lot of money. That would only cause the students and the administration more grief than it's already been through.

We call on the school board to suspend Coach Saccoccia for his behavior. The fact that he has refused to take any real disciplinary steps towards the football players that either witnessed or in some way abetted the alleged rape is disturbing, and his treatment of the New York Times journalist who spoke to him about the case is frightening. His actions are indicative of someone who cares more about their win-loss record than about the young people they are supposed to be improving.

We also urge the school board to examine the actions of Superintendent Michael McVey and Principal Shawn Crosier. This sad case has all the tell tale signs of an attempted cover-up, and our hearts ache for the victim who has been subjected to undue scrutiny and blame.

Hefner--and McVey--are absolutely correct. The Grand Jury will be able to see many more items of evidence than we have seen so far. Why would anyone think that NOW would be the time to take any action when there are still many unknown facts that will come out beginning April 15th.

Highland, I guess you'd be in favor of crucifying Christ again if it served your politically correct agenda.

Highland, I'm not sure if Change**** is with Soros but it does defend mostly liberal causes.

it's been too long and no coach has come forward[that we know of]and tried to defend themselves.

If in fact the coach or coaches aided and abetted the attempted cover-up of this incident then the coaches or coaches should be fired and charged to the fullest extent of the law. Maybe other coaches will learn. You could say the coach was priming the boys for the big leagues because there are an awfully lot of professional athletes that are nothing more than criminals. This petition will go nowhere and the ensuing investigation will, I hope, be thorough and complete and will divulge those that were a party to this rape and bring them to justice. Although a guilty verdict was rendered, I think there is more to the story than came out in court.

Isn't change**** the George Soros operation? Geez, I want Reno to go, too, but wouldn't ally myself with that communist.
