"Is that coincidence?" he asked. "I don't know. But I can tell you my phone is already ringing off the hook telling me 'back off' from doing any more cuts. We can't afford to do this anymore."

The same day the senate voted to make the 85 billion "cuts" they also passed an appropriation to send 87 billion to the Middle East wars....that is how our goberment will continue to "cut" spending!

This talk was whining and excuse making. Most of America, except for the East and West coasts are rural, so get serious. And yes, the small airports don't need control tower personnel for the occasional landing or take off. And get rid of that Walrus food filter.

"Federal dollars will cover all of New York City's costs associated with Hurricane Sandy, according to a report out Wednesday from the city's Independent Budget Office.

About 90% of the total $6.3 billion in Sandy-related emergency and recovery spending will be funded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The remaining 10% will be covered through community development block grant funds."

Hefner, The US is 80% Urban and 20% Rural in population!

@dyinggov: You are right, I misspoke as did McKinley. I identify WV as an urban area, not a rural area. Am I forgiven?

Hefner, Just pointing out why Noboma was elected...If the US was mostly rural that would never have happened.

If WV has any areas with 50,000 in population than that is considered Urban. I know over the last few years Huntington and Charleston were interested in trying to get above the 50,000 mark! Not sure if they made it or not...

@dyinggov: Doggone, you're right again but aren't we cutting the bread a little thin? How about we settle on WV being defined as urban clusters and we just ignore McKinley for spewing poppycock?

As long as he represents our views and votes for the betterment of THIS state he will have my vote. Having seen the Mollohan's use WV as their ticket to D.C. for four decades, and seeing them vote the national party line, I can appreciate any one who will represent US. People who get caught up in the party affiliation or the mindless lib/conserv babble are part of the obstacle to real change in national gov. Mollohan had to buy property in WV to be eligbile to hold office from WV when his father bestowed the seat to him. And he never lived in WV and does not now live in WV. But no matter, lib/conserv babble can excuse a Congressmen who never lived here just so long as he pretends to be from here and he is from the right gang. No thanks, out of business, out of town politicians are WV's heritage and McKinley is qualified and an actual resident. So far he still has my Dem vote.

triton, You do realize that the same year McKinley "started" his business in Wheeling, he was elected to the WV House of Delegates?

@triton:You are right about the past but McKinley here is just offering BS. I pray that we can get representives who will tell the people the truth and quit spouting party ideology. We must insist on strict adherence to our Constitution. Now that the election is over have you noticed how Manchin is now in lockstep with the party?

The 149 towers that were shut down were "non-union" towers.
