And the politician says:

'My hope is at some point ... the development up there can be a stabilizing effect in the county to where even at some point help subsidize certain things in the county, which would keep us from ever having to raise taxes on anybody,' he said.

HE DID IT WITHOUT A CRYSTAL BALL!

Absolute clairvoyance! We must remember that Interstate 70 is primarily responsible for the development and success of the Highlands. It strained no one's wisdom or imagination to build a commercial outlet next to an interstate highway.

With everything at the Highlands I hope they put in the other on/off ramp at the bottom of the hill. It's a bottle neck there and heaven forbid they have to evacuate quickly, because that'll be a joke. Everyone complains about how unsafe it is to drive to the highlands and it is. Who puts an exit ramp going uphill that the tractor trailers (are suppose to use). I have tried to get off that exit and you have to hold your breath to make sure you make it and it's normally the people that live in other states that freak. THey slam on their brakes, cut you off, it's ridiculous. There was talk about the ramp years ago so I don't see the problem. Everyone complains about the exit but then doesn't want the other exchange. Oh and then people try to go McCutcheon Road to get around bumper to bumper traffic. That road is ridiculous and not suitable for people to drive it, especially those that don't live out there. I hope the commissiners let us know why it's not done yet.
