The editorial clearly indicated that the preponderance of tolls is paid by out-of-state travelers. What's more, the WV Turnpike I've traveled is one of the finest highways in the state. There are no more three lane stretches and the onerous tunnels are history. I don't travel the turnpike often but I agree with the editorial: let the Ohio and Pennsylvania travelers pay for the turnpike! What's the beef?

The West Virginia turnpike is the WORST stretch of highway in the state yet its the ONLY one that CHARGES you to use it!!!

FIRST of all, my 3,000 pound car could run the length of that turnpike for 50 years and I challenge ANYBODY to find ANY wear and tear that I've created!!!!

The MASSIVE and over weight trucks that now FILL the highways are DESTROYING these roads at RECORD pace!!

So it is VERY clear that THEY should be the ONLY ones paying to keep up these roads!!

And it is REDICULOUS for a West Virginia RESIDENT to be required to pay tolls when clearly residents pay FAR too many taxes to the state already!!!

And since the clowns in Charleston REFUSE to tax the oil and gas companies for the massive road damages THEY are DIRECTLY responsible for, they decide to STEAL yet MORE from the hard working RESIDENTS of the state!!

The GYPSY gas worker pay ZERO property tax, ZERO income tax, personal property tax, ZERO, license and registration tax, and vehicle inspection tax!
