April 12, 2013

“Buckwild,” the “reality television” program that debuted this year, was a runaway hit. Beyond any reasonable doubt the best — in ratings, that is — was yet to come....

whgfeeling-they did do the right thing by cancelling. Havent followed news or heard about final cost, but would not be surprised if family does not file lawsuit. Honestly, I only heard part of story, but from what I understand, 3 drunks got truck stuck in mud and left engine running and slept or passed out. Exhaust pipes sunk down in mud and they died from poisoning from fumes. Is it funny, does America think its funny now? Someone is watching and enjoys or ratings would not be so great. Then wonder why youth act like idiots.

I hear people talk about waiting for Duck Dynasty, Swamp People, Dance Moms, Dirty Jobs, Kardashians. What does it tell us. I think we are further deteriorating as a society. These people are getting rich. Kardashians do NOTHING to be billionaires. Even Honey BB gets 5K an episode. Use to be concerned about kids and video games, at least they were developing eye hand coordination. These show lead to nothing.

The GIVEAWAY on Reality TV is when Hollywood had a WRITERS STRIKE, the reality shows had to STOP FILMING!!!!

WHY???

Because they have WRITERS who SCRIPT the entire show! From Survivor to Great Race to Apprentice to Honey Boo Boo!!

"All of these shows are worthless, and the adults who sit around and engage in watching this garbage are making examples for our youth," blooming.

Completely agree! I had a friend recommend watching the reality show that supposedly follows a family living on the Yukon River in Alaska. To put it mildly, it was asinine. I am familiar with the region and the community, Tanana, where the show was taped. I also have experience traveling by dog team, snow machine, riverboat and on snowshoes while hunting, netting fish and running a trap line. The show claims that people in Tanana are on the verge of starvation because of game shortage. BULL! Tanana is only a short airline flight from Fairbanks, and the characters portrayed are clearly losers who have virtually no idea of how to live a subsistence lifestyle. It shows a wolf being shot to protect the village. Again, B.S.! I ran across a number of wolves in the old days and never had one show any sign of aggression. Realit

All of these shows are worthless, and the adults who sit around and engage in watching this garbage are making examples for our youth. I have never been able to tolerate an entire episode of any of these shows, or the entirety of the Whites of Boone County. I guess I do not understand the humor in how ignorant people can behave. Watching other bored people get in trouble is not my idea of entertainment, nor is obese families and children with behavioral poor social skills honey boo. We have way too much of nothing. Use to be shows that did episode on various topics/human condition, such as hoarders or addictions or crime. Now we have Hoarders, Celebrity Rehab among others, and an abundance of other 'about nothing" shows. Others loss and grief and dysfunction are now considered entertainment. Agree with Wraith

Well second season would have been a real DOWNER. I dead, two in trouble with the law. People really don't want to watch "Reality" TV because REAL reality friggen sux most of the time, as it did here.

FOOLS want false reality like the Bachelor or Survivor, which BTW, are all SCRIPTED.
