I have no problem having public schools take cuts. Just match them with cuts in paperwork by kicking out all the Federal paperwork, and you could run the place with half the staff. And speaking as a former student that averaged 35 kids per classroom, with the only visual aids being filmstrips and MAYBE live TV, I have no sympathy with these "overworked" teachers. The literacy rate for Boomers is much higher than the current crop, and I see no reason to reward lousy workmanship by the NEA members with my tax dollars.

And before you slam me about how hard the teachers have it, I WAS ONE. Bailed out because I saw no future in it, and I was much more interested in science anyway.
