No, it didn't. This bill, like so many others, is a politically motivated knee-jerk reaction to a horrible event. But take a look at what happened in Connecticut, and tell me how this bill would have prevented it.

It wouldn't have made any difference. Every single thing that shooter did was already illegal, so what difference would a new law make?

This is one more example of the "we gotta do SOMETHING" mentality of our overregulating society. A study of recent gun law cases show the Feds have actually REDUCED the number of current prosecutions. So if they aren't enforcing the current laws, why think they will act on new ones?

Keeping guns out of the hands of POTENTIAL CRIMINALS should be the goal of any new rules.

Both Pat Toomey and Joe Manchin got big money from the NRA. -- Do you think this is a compromise?
