April 20, 2013 (CNN) -- A pistol in the hands of a 4-year-old boy went off during a weekend cookout, killing the wife of a Tennessee sheriff's deputy who was showing his guns to a relative, state police said Monday. No one saw the boy pick up the weapon before the shooting, which occurred Saturday night in Lebanon, east of Nashville, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Kristin Helm said. The single shot killed 47-year-old Josephine Fanning, the wife of Wilson County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Fanning. The couple were hosting family and friends at their house when Daniel Fanning and a relative went into a bedroom to check out some of Fanning's guns, Helm said. Josephine Fanning and the boy walked into the room later, and at some point the boy picked the loaded pistol up off the bed.

Cluelazz, thanks for proving MY point that you leftist jerks have to LIE THROUGH YOUR TEETH, exaggerate figures, and generally play MIND F*** to make your point because the FACTS DON'T SUPPORT YOUR BS.

36 million violent crimes PREVENTED by firearms in 20 years.

I'm sure the 36 + million people and their families who are ALIVE thanks to GUNS APPRECIATE THAT MORE!

Over 40,000 deaths per year by autos times 20 years is about 800,000+ deaths.

I'LL BET THOSE SURVIVING FAMILY MEMBERS FEEL THE SAME WAY.

WV, based on what I have read re: this technology it is possible to tap into a web of camera monitors that are operating 24-7 to download and integrate data to identify literally thousands of subjects. Ultimately, enormous computer power can be applied to tracking a suspect across the breath of the country and beyond even predicting likely movements of the individual. Satellite cameras have already shown how easy it is to locate subjects virtually worldwide. Anonymity is an illusion.

Well dawg criminals just ain't too smart!

Which is WHY gun control is meaningless.

I ask again: MURDER by gun, knife, bomb, fists, clubs, etc. ALL GET the DEATH PENALTY or LIFE w/o Parole.

That has NOT stopped the crazies and the felons and criminals.

Hence Gun control ONLY AFFECTS the law abiding citizens.

DUH!

One thing that impresses me re: this incident is the almost universal camera coverage of events and people in the street. Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects at several locations. The software now available was able to enhance the images and initiate background checks to match the images of other cameras and, eventually, other sources of electronic information. Anyone inclined to carry out an act of this type is facing a formidable array of technology that is likely to bring them to justice much faster than they realize.

You see, I told you all several days ago this was the result of global warming:

It’s a terrible situation in Boston. And, unfortunately, … one gets the sense that this is more reflective of the ‘new normal,’ if you will,” he explained. “So much of society is changing so rapidly. We talk about a ‘new normal’ when it comes t0 climate change and adjusting to a change in the weather patterns. ‘New normal’ when it comes to public security in a post-9/11 world. Where these random acts of violence, which at one time were implausible, now seem all-too-frequent.”

Governor Andrew Cuomo, scheduled his own radio interview on The Capitol Pressroom soon after. Mr. Cuomo directly addressed the high-profile situation in the Bay State by employing a phrase he previously used to describe climate change in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy: “the new normal.”

Clueless,

In 2010 there were 358 murders involving rifles. Murders involving the use of handguns in the US that same year totaled 6,009, with another 1,939 murders with the firearm type unreported." That is 8306 deaths a YEAR times 20 years is about 166,120 deaths from FIREARMS of all types.

That is NOWHERE CLOSE to 900,000 number you brain dead cretins are throwing out, WTF??? The fact you have to give a 20 year figure just shows how desperate you pathetic low IQ posters are.

Here is a figure for you: an estimated 1,800,000 VIOLENT CRIMES are PREVENTED by the use of a firearms. Take that over 20 years, that is 36,000,000 = 36 MILLION violent crimes prevented by firearms versus about 0.166 million deaths.

Since Monday I have been treated to numerous conversations with local people who believe that they must spout political cultlike talk, say, "Gee I hope this bombing was right wing white people" or I hope its not Muslims. Can people be so eaten up with politics that they hope a terrorist act is something they can attribute to Americans instead of the terrorists of the world who are sworn to kill us all? How does one get to that point in their political robot life that they hope that the bombing is done by Americans? And today are upset thst they are Chechin Muslims and not some American? Even today Bloomquist said he was surprised at this, he was sure it was American based. Thats disgusting.
