The focus should be on making sure Manchin doesn't return to the Senate at the next election.

Beat that dead horse Joe. You always did kiss up to Obama. Let's see how that affects your re-election. Oh, never mind West Virginia will vote you in just like Byrd and Rockefeller.

WV voters use to vote in different senators in the early days. Byrd, Randolph, Jrock and Manchin are the only 4 we have had since the 50's. When this "run" for US Senators started WV was ranked in the mid 30's of the 48 states in positive economic categories. Today WV is rated 49 of the 50! When you keep electing the same dude, he is no longer working for the voters! Proof is in the pudding!!!

Manchin is really showing his true colors and the left wing liberal compromiser that he is.

Typical politician, he is; like a Rhinestone Cowboy. They'll be a load of compromisin' on the road to Joe's horizon. Joe's gonna be where the light is shining on him.

This is classic liberal politics, the D.C. dance. Joe knows that his constituents do not support this, but he so wants to have a pat on the head and get warm fuzzies from the liberal media. He sacrificed the one point that had more broad based support, that is making "grey" gun dealers at gun shows meet the same requirements as regular FFL stores. I have been to gun shows and it IS the perfect place for a felon or nut to obtain a weapon and large amounts of ammo. Gun shows rules are not unreasonable but Manchin signed off on bizarre rules about members of families, etc. Manchin knows that his voters DO NOT support this, and yet he did it and wants to do it again. So Joe is in D.C. like Rocky, representing himself and his new love affair with the liberal media. That means he is NOT speaking for WV. So why is here there? Not saying my citizens don't support this so I can't, he wants to impose it on us. Joe U know U must go, lets send Capito.

This clearly will not help Manchin's future political career and could actually leave a huge black mark on it. Imo, he should not vote against this bill because his home state is against it, or because he believes it will advance his career, he should not vote for this legislation simply because it is wrong.

triton, Capito is running for the seat being vacated by Jrock....

Likely the reason that the bill was defeated:

"The Toomey-Manchin proposal contains a provision that lets a doctor add a patient to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) without ever telling the patient he or she has been added."

Traitor Joe the treasonous tyrant won't stop unless the PEOPLE rise up!

Gun control and those who attempt it are guilty of treason!

The Dick Act of 1902 also known as the Efficiency of Militia Bill H.R. 11654, of June 28, 1902 invalidates all so-called gun-control laws. It also divides the militia into three distinct and separate entities.

How about bomb control, Joe? And how about Muslim control, too. Throw in immigration control and MAYBE you'll actually do some good for this country.

GETACLUE

Apr-20-13 12:19 PM

(CNN) -- A pistol in the hands of a 4-year-old boy went off during a weekend cookout, killing the wife of a Tennessee sheriff's deputy who was showing his guns to a relative, state police said Monday.

No one saw the boy pick up the weapon before the shooting, which occurred Saturday night in Lebanon, east of Nashville, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Kristin Helm said. The single shot killed 47-year-old Josephine Fanning, the wife of Wilson County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Fanning.

The couple were hosting family and friends at their house when Daniel Fanning and a relative went into a bedroom to check out some of Fanning's guns, Helm said. Josephine Fanning and the boy walked into the room later, and at some point the boy picked the loaded pistol up off the bed.
