That's a very good report, considering that the 14 million dollar "renovation" project a couple years ago was totally for cosmetics only. No structural problems were addressed at all.

"A myriad of problems turned the project into a construction fiasco costing $14.4 million and taking three and one-half years to finish. To date, no parties have been held responsible for the cost overruns or delays."

Fleecing of the US/State/County/City tax payer.....

They should take the hill out and build a six lane bridge. Wheeling is the only place in the entire interstate system where thru traffic is one lane.

The $14.4 million was a bandage on an incurable cancer. This cancer, the Wheeling Tunnel, will have to be removed. There is no other known cure.

ohiodem, You ever travel I-70 through Columbus, Ohio, St Louis, Mo and/or Kansas City, MO? All three funnel traffic into one lane on I-70.

what if people refused to use infra-structure which they deemed unsafe and or decrepit. Get a map and plan for safe and long life.
