Bepositive- You are right. The kids need and deserve places like this.Lets hope that the kids can use it at their choice. Trouble is- In these days, kids are not allowed to play what they want. Everything has to be organized by adults into leagues with uniforms, certain rules etc. I sometimes think the adults get involved because in the back of their minds they wish they were kids again. They think they are doing good- But,are they?

The kids are out future. Spending money (mostly private money) to give kids healthy activities is well spent. The structures they tore down had no value. Something positive for the children of Wheeling! Great job to our leaders!

More money down the drain. This so called "Sports Field" will be used by only a selected few and "OUR" tax money will be used to maintain it. Of course one or more will have to be hired to run the place. At least the grass won't need cutting. But other jobs will be created for a favorite few.

BREAKING NEWS: (I don't know if this is true or not)

There will be a special production at the Capitol Theater for West Virginia's 150th year celebration.

Only City, County and State officials can attend.

Sir Randall Reid-Smith, Congressman David McKinley and Senator Joe Manchin staring in "The Emperor's New Clothes."

"The Emperor's New Clothes" is a short tale by Hans Christian Andersen about two weavers who promise an Emperor a new suit of clothes that is invisible to those unfit for their positions, stupid, or incompetent.

When the Emperor parades before his subjects in his new clothes, a child cries out, "But he isn't wearing anything at all!"

This is only now going out for bids? You have got to be kidding! Where is the Mayor's secret list that is hermetically sealed in a Hellman's mayonnaise jar that contains all of those benevolent contributors? That list was supposed to be published two years ago. It is amazing the level of deceit that the taxpayer's of Wheeling are willing to tolerate.

I hope some locals are considering a run for office because we need a complete overhaul in leadership.

That playground got torn down.

Only poor kids used it. SIGH!

Maybe they can learn to play lacrosse with the Catholic kids.

I remember when East Wheeling was a proud, mostly residential community. Now it is a maze of parking lots and a playground with few but special interests to use it, and all for the bargain price of just $600,000.

A banner day for Wheeling and the "In Wheeling" class of folks.

This is going to be good.

We can't wait to see the barbed wire installed around this wonderful, thoughtful and more likely gated sporting complex.

Go LEADERS!
